Communicate Effectively Under Pressure

  • Zoom & Gamma 2 lunch room (map)

What happens to us when we are put on the spot? When we receive challenging questions after a presentation, have disagreements with colleagues, or defend our PhD thesis. These can all trigger strong physiological and emotional responses - sometimes making it harder to think clearly, respond effectively, and communicate the way we intended.

In this CSI seminar, we will explore what happens in our bodies and emotional states during high-pressure situations in academia, what research tells us about emotional regulation, and how we can use this knowledge to navigate difficult interactions more effectively. We will also introduce practical tools and strategies that can help you communicate with greater clarity and confidence when the pressure is on!
